I received with profound shock and deep concern the news of the abduction and subsequent brutal murder of Mr. Apyinyang Godwin Dauda, a resident of Sabon Gida in Lissam, Ussa LGA.
We unequivocally condemn this heinous act, which took place on the 7th of July, 2023. This barbaric and archaic crime is deeply troubling to all of us.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to the entire community of Ussa LGA, especially to the family of the deceased, during this time of immense loss. It is my sincere prayer that the good Lord will grant peace to the soul of Mr. Apyinyang.
In this challenging and sorrowful time, I appeal to all leaders—religious, political, and traditional—to put aside their differences. Let us unite for the sake of our land, as unity has always been our strength.
In the coming days, I will be engaging with stakeholders to develop short, medium, and long-term measures to prevent such a tragic event from recurring. We will work closely with all relevant authorities to ensure lasting peace and address the issues plaguing our land.
