Earlier yesterday, Monday 01.07.2024, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde (aka Amaechi) who is the immediate past Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Rural and Community Development and a former Federal Legislator, received members of the Chief Olusola Oke, SAN campaign structure who have come to publicly collapse their structure to further boost the aspiration of Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. This significant political event took place at the Information Centre in Epinmi-Akoko.
Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, who currently serves as the State Director of Youths and Sports for the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organization (LACO), witnessed seamless the integration of Chief Olusola Oke’s supporters. The Olusola Oke team, led by Chief Bailey Arohunmolase – the Director-General of the Olusola Oke Campaign Organization in Akoko South East Local Government and a former Local Government Chairman – formally pledged their support for the gubernatorial ambitions of Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, the incumbent Governor and APC candidate for the November 16, 2024 governorship elections. It would be recalled that Chief Olusola Oke, SAN who was one of the major contenders for the APC ticket in the last governorship primary of the party has directed that his campaign structures across the eighteen local government areas of the state be collapsed in support of the party’s flagbearer, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
The meeting saw a strong turnout of prominent APC figures from Akoko South East Local Government, including Hon. Ajayi Johnson, APC Chairman in Akoko South East; Mrs. Awolowo Oluremi, former Assistant State Treasurer; Hon. Felix Okereji, former member of the Ondo State House of Assembly; Mr. John Adeyemi, Chairman of the Forum of APC Ward Chairmen in Akoko South East; Mr. Katola Kayode, former Supervisor; Hon. Nuhu Fatai, former Vice Chairman of Akoko South East.
Chief Bailey Arohunmolase said as a leader of the party he is totally committed to the victory of the party in the forthcoming governorship elections. He expressed his delight that the APC is going into the election as a strong united party.
During the meeting, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde reassured the members from Chief Olusola Oke’s political structure that they would face no discrimination within the party. He emphasized the unity within the APC in Akoko South East and reaffirmed the party’s strong presence in the area, noting that all significant political figures in the Local Government Area are now part of the ruling APC.
