Senator Jide Ipinsagba Urges Nigerians to Embrace Democracy and Unity

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs and the Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Olajide Ipinsagba, has made a passionate call to the citizens of Nigeria to come together and promote national unity. In his message marking the 2024 Democracy Day, Senator Ipinsagba emphasized that there is still hope for the nation, despite the challenges it faces

He acknowledged that the journey of democracy in Nigeria, which began in 1999, has not been free from difficulties. However, he urged Nigerians not to overlook the significance of Democracy Day, especially the historic struggles associated with June 12. He pointed out that many great nations, including the United States of America, have faced their own trials on the path to democracy.

The Senator extended his best wishes to the people of Ondo North Senatorial District  on the occasion of Democracy Day.

The Senator said, “As we celebrate Nigeria’s Democracy Day, I want to extend my warmest greetings and message of hope to each and every one of you. Today, we commemorate our nation’s journey towards freedom, democracy, and self-governance. I want to acknowledge the resilience and determination of our people, who have steadfastly believed in the democratic process despite its challenges. Your unwavering support and trust in me as your Senator have been a source of strength and inspiration.”

Senator Ipinsagba’s message reiterated his unwavering belief that Nigeria can overcome its challenges and emerge stronger. He encouraged all citizens to maintain hope and work together towards a brighter future for the nation. He called for a collective effort to overcome the imperfections and challenges of the nation’s young democracy, reminding everyone that despite the daunting obstacles, the country’s potential for greatness remains undiminished

As we celebrate democracy, let us also recognize the progress we have made and the work still ahead. I reaffirm my commitment to continue working tirelessly for the betterment of our district and our nation.
