The Ministry of Cooperatives and Empowerment has on Wednesday presented a laptop to one of the People With Disability (PWD), Adeleke Sodiq Opeyemi in Osogbo.
Presenting the laptop on behalf of the Commissioner, the Special Adviser to the Governor in the Ministry, Honourable Durojaye Isaac, said this is in fulfillment of promise made by the Commissioner for Cooperatives and Empowerment, Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe during an empowerment programme in March, 2024 organised by the ‘Project Enable Africa’.
He noted that the commissioner has fulfill the promise made, ‘a promise made and kept’, adding that the commissioner always cherishes his words.
Sodiq is a graphics design engineer who specializes in designing graphics. He was one of the participants at the empowerment programme organised for the PWD by the Project Enable Africa to showcase their talent in their choosen career.
Speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry urged the beneficiary to make positive use of the laptop with a view to lift him from his presentj economic status.
The Director of Empowerment, Mrs Magret Oginnin, said she is happy that the promise has been kept. “Sodiq used to call me to ask of the laptop which I said he would soon receive. She urged the beneficiary to make use of it.
Sodiq, who hailed from Iwo, thanked the commissioner for counting him worthy of gesture, pray God to continue to bless Prince Ogungbangbe and the government of Osun State, saying this would help him to boost his business.
