Leaders and stakeholders of APC in Akure South LGA yesterday met to discuss political development of the community ahead of the November 16 gubernatorial election.
The meeting which was conveyed by Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire SAN, Senator Representing Ondo Central Senatorial District and was held at his Akure residence had in attendance all notable political bigwigs across across the APC family.
Senator Adegbonmire in his remarks said the meeting was not conveyed for him to further his political ambitions but to ensure unity and oneness of all political gladiators.
He made it clear that he’s never an obstacle to anyone’s ambitions.
He added that agitation for any sons and daughters of community to become deputy governor or governor is legitimate but it has to be done strategically.
Adegbonmire appealed to all the leaders to eschew politics of bitternes and vote massively for the governoship candidate of the APC, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa in the November 16 gubernatorial election in the overall interest of the party.
Leaders present at the occasion took time to speak with one voice and insisted that it’s legitimate for an Akure person to succeed Aiyedatiwa comes 2028.
Those who spoke on the issue include , Hon.Temitayo Oluwatuyi, Secretary to the State Government ; Hon. Ademola Adegoroye , Immediate past Minister of State for Transport; Hon. Derin Adesida, MHR Representing Akure South/North Federal Constituency; Hon. Ifedayo Sunday Abegunde, Executive Director Coperate Affairs NDDC , Hon. Gbenga Olaniyi Commissioner for Physical Planninglanning and Urban Development.
Others are: Hon. Stephen Abitogun Member Representing Akure Constituency 2 ODHA; Dr ( Mrs) Olubunmi Ademosun , Hon. Olumiyiwa Adu (Cubana); Hon. Oluwafemi Fadairo ( Fada), Chief S.B Akerele, Chairman Akure South Elders Forum.
