Political governance is a game between vision and practicality. Meaning, what does the leader plan to do and how can he execute the plan based on timing. Timing is absolutely necessary; not only in politics but (generally) in all spheres of life. Political activities without timing can result in failure. Timing based on research, SWOT analysis can result in tremendous success for politicians.
Politics is a game of information and communication. And again, politics is about representation, decision making, law making, economic, political and governance of society or nation and in all spheres of human life and everything around him. In addition, politics is an elitist game and power play. But violence and rigging is absolutely prohibited!
Still politics is a matter of timing. Timing is very important in political democratic governance. Essentially one has to keep watching the 1460 days (4 year term) as an elected person or representative of the electorates. Each day is important. Each week out of 208 weeks is important. And again, each month out of 48 months is also very very important. Timing is the leading light in political democracy.
Within the period of 35,040 hours (4 year term) as a leader or representative of the electorate, politicians can create or mold a policy that can favor and develop the life of every member of society positively. The most important point is one has to exercise patient and Keep hope and tell his people that good days are on the way. But dedication, honesty, political will, sincerity, positive intention should be the guiding principles for any politician.
Nigerians should not expect that the naivety and incompetence played in the past 320,000,000,000 hours (24 years) can be resolved or corrected within 35,0040 hours. It’s easy to destroy. But it takes time to build or to correct. So, give time at least 4 years and then judge his direction and performance in governance of the current President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government and then give him credit or failure. He has good intentions, positive will and political experience to set Nigeria on the right direction. It’s obvious that he did well as a governor of Lagos state for eight years. Hence, Nigeria is not a one state to govern but it’s a combination of societies with different culture, religion, environment and tradition. So, Nigeria needs through serialized strategic planning based on timing and advice from internal and external political economic and social stakeholders.
Within the past 11 months, Nigeria’s image, glory and credibility has been revived and redeemed among the comity of nations. Nigeria is still better than many countries around the South South Nations of the world. And many countries had bitter experiences, especially on economic and security challenges but they are now moving in a stable manner. China, India, Brazil, Rwanda, Egypt and many more.
Although Nigerians have accumulated anger and hearts palpitations, especially on security challenges, economic precarity and generally stagflation or aridity of pockets of Nigerians especially the downtrodden (there is no economic middle class people this time around). Please give time, pray and cooperate with the government and Nigeria will be great again. One thing for sure; Nigeria will remain united. Experts predicted that 3 African nations will be great within the 21s Century; South Africa, Nigeria and Algeria. Hence, we have to keep hope.
Conclusively, this writing understands that without putting much pressure on tackling corruption the future hope will be blocked. Without justice and fairness there will be no future hope. Without sacrifice from the part of leadership (still) there is no hope in the future. There seems to be the possibility of transfer of generational leadership in Africa; Nigerian leaders must get prepared for that reality. Otherwise, the world will confront the current leadership. Ethiopia and Senegal are excellent examples.
