Fifty members of the House of Representatives paid a solidarity visit to the Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, to celebrate his one year in office.
The lawmakers, which consists of members of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP), Labour Party ( LP), New Nigeria Peoples Party ( NNPP), All Progressives Grand Alliance ( APGA) and the All Progressives Congress ( APC) include spokesman of opposition coalition, in the House, Ikenga Ugochinyere..
Ugochinyere, while addressing journalists, on the sideline of a thanksgiving service, in Port Harcourt, said the federal lawmakers were in Rivers to solidarilize with Fubara and celebrate with him on his one year of transformational leadership.
According to him, the presence of the federal lawmakers, from across party lines, is evidence of Fubara’s transformational infrastructure revolution which have gotten serious national attention .
“Governor Fubara has recorded great achievements in the areas of good governance, restoration and maintenance of peace and unity, and provision of massive infrastructural projects for economic prosperity in Rivers State one year after his assumption of office.
“Evidence of that was seen in the 20-day programme of events and activities to celebrate his first year in office, with the inauguration of the 10.9-kilometre Aleto-Ogale-Ebubu-Eteo section of the old Port Harcourt–Bori road, Elele-Umudioga-Egbeda-Ubimini-Ikiri-Omoku 31 km road; commissioning of the Emohua-Terma road, commissioning of Egbeda Internal roads project in Emohua Local Government Area, commissioning of phase 1 of Port Harcourt Electrical Village and flag off of phase 2 and so many others.
“These are very massive projects which so many administrations had deliberately skipped from reaching the masses. But from the way the Governor is going, you will understand, there are other good things to come. We commend him and he will always have our support,” he stated.
