As over 200 Youth Benefit from DHDEI Empowerment in Ilaje
In a concerted effort to empower and uplift the youth in Ilaje, a cohort of distinguished individuals led by Akingbade Toluwa-Jolomi (Founder Dakiz Human Development and Empowerment Initiative) joined forces with Dr. Irewola Oludehinwa PhD, a respected lecturer at Caleb University, Prince Monday Akinyomi, a UK-based business mogul, Rt. Hon. Malachi Coker, former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Regent Adeyinka Abejoye of the recent Irokun Kingdom, and Hon. Toyin Erelu, to champion the cause of skill acquisition among the youth.
The collective effort culminated in the Dakiz Human Development and Empowerment Initiative (DHDEI) Empowerment program, which witnessed an overwhelming response from the community. Out of the 569 eager applicants, over 200 youths were selected to partake in the initiative.
Recognizing the transformative power of skill acquisition, the initiative focused on a diverse array of vocational fields, including solar installation, graphic design, barbing, bag making, makeup artistry, hairdressing, furniture craftsmanship, aluminum fabrication, photography, and more.
Dr. Irewola Oludehinwa PhD, an advocate for education and community development, emphasized the importance of equipping youths with practical skills that would enable them to seize opportunities in today’s dynamic job market. “Empowering our youth with vocational skills not only enhances their employability but also fosters entrepreneurship and self-reliance,” remarked Dr. Oludehinwa.
Prince Monday Akinyomi, whose philanthropic endeavors have touched lives across continents, highlighted the significance of collaboration in driving sustainable development. “By uniting our efforts and resources, we can create a ripple effect of positive change that transcends borders and empowers generations,” stated Prince Akinyomi.
Rt. Hon. Malachi Coker underscored the role of mentorship and guidance in nurturing the talents of the youth. “As leaders, it is our duty to not only provide opportunities but also to offer guidance and support as these young individuals embark on their journey towards success,” affirmed Rt. Hon. Coker.
Regent Adeyinka Abejoye, representing the rich cultural heritage of the Irokun Kingdom, expressed optimism about the transformative impact of the initiative on the local community. “By investing in our youth and harnessing their potential, we are laying the foundation for a prosperous and sustainable future for Ilaje,” declared Regent Abejoye.
Hon. Toyin Erelu, known for her advocacy for women and youth empowerment, emphasized the importance of inclusivity and gender equality in skill development initiatives. “Empowering our youth, regardless of gender, is essential for building an inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive,” affirmed Hon. Erelu.
The program held at World Changers International Church, Kurugbene has over 500 People in attendance which includes parents and Guardian of the Beneficiaries and their wards
The DHDEI Empowerment program represents a landmark initiative in the quest for youth empowerment and community development in Ilaje. Through the collaborative efforts of esteemed personalities and the enthusiastic participation of the youth, the initiative is poised to catalyze positive change and unlock the potential of the next generation.
