A Chinese man, identified as Gz Zhen, has been arrested by the Abia State Police Command for allegedly pushing a female employee, Ocheze Munachi Ogbonna, to death after she allegedly refused his sexual advances.
Zhen, who is the manager of Inner Galaxy, a steel manufacturing company in Abia State, was alleged to have pushed Munachi from a crane at the company, resulting in her death.
Following her death, youths in the community called for the arrest of Zhen.
The Abia State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chinaka, has now revealed that the suspect has been arrested.
She said, “We got a report alleging that Mr. GZ ZHEN, through his actions, led to the death of one of his staff members by the name of Vivian Ocheze Munachi.
“The suspect has been arrested while an investigation is ongoing.”
Meanwhile, friends have gone on social media to mourn Miss Ogbonna who is remembered as a “lively” young woman.
Ogbonna, a crane operator at Zhen’s Inner Galaxy company, was reportedly pushed down from a crane leading to her death.
An X user @IgboHistory&facts shared, “Ocheze Ogbonna, who works with Inner Galaxy Company in Umuahala-Obuzor, Abia state.
“Because she refused the sexual advances of her Chinese boss, he pushed her down from a crane where she works as an operator to her death.”
Also, @PIDOMNIGERIA wrote, “Miss Ocheze is a lively girl who was proud of her dignity in labour, by working as a crane operator at a Chinese company.
“Despite the stress, hassle and bustle of the job, Ocheze kept pushing. But her Chinese boss decided to murder her at work because she turned down his sexual advances towards her.”
