On April 20, 2024, the citizens of Ondo State was rudely treated to a show of shame by some shameful and disgusting politicians on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC in a charade party primary election to elect it candidate for the November 16, 2024 Governorship Election.
This show of shame and the shameful activities of the perpetrators of the evil conduct thereafter, has continued to impact negatively on the generality of Ondo State people and further dragged the reputation of the State into the mud among the comity of States. It’s still remains ridiculous and unfounded to majority of APC members in the State, and every others right thinking and progressively inclined individuals in the Sunshine State and beyond.
As if the mockery and injurious act against the people of the State was not enough, the purported winner of “No Election” primary and incumbent governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa threw decorum into the wind, went haywire with his aides and supporters to accept and celebrate a stolen ticket to bear the flag of APC during the Governorship Election later in the year.
However, after expended all known internal party mechanisms to redress the injustice meant on the rest of fifteen aspirants that were expected to precipitate in the primary poll chaired by the Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo; one of the aspirants who’s the current Senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim, CFR decided to lead the redemption battle against the injustice, went before a Federal High Court in Abuja, to challenge the charade.
The action of the Senator has caused panic, destabilising every other fraudulent plans that were laid down for perfection of the Ododo’s team self-generated and allocated figures inside it cosy hotel suite to declared Lucky Aiyedatiwa as winner.
Moreover, Senator Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim, CFR equipped his claim of “No Election” before the Abuja Court with the CTC reports of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC who were billed to monitor the flawed poll. The INEC officials wrote in their reports that there were no election in 15 out of 18 Council Areas of the State. The INEC report has been the last straw that broke the camel back which threw the Governor’s camp into distress and disarray.
The weighting overall implications of the said INEC reports have sent serious damaging signals to the Aiyedatiwa’s camp that it’s just matters of time before he kisses the APC Guber ticket goodbye.
And in it panic mood, the Aiyedatiwa’s group had resulted into engaging professional comedians to act comedy show as a way of bringing relief into the tensed situation and hot seat he is sitting on. The new comedy show in town now is gathering some hungry people, induced them with peanut and direct them to sign a paper, purportedly suspending Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, CFR from APC from his Igbotako Ward 2. What a joke carrying too far!
Before this latest move, Aiyedatiwa has employed different avenues to cover up the April 20, 2024 show of shame, but it seems that he is either listening and taking counselling from amateur counsellors or his brainstorming ideas and knowledge do not measure up to standard that can withstand the magnitude of problems on ground.
How do you explain the latest exploit of the Governor and his cronies? In the middle of serious allegations of fraud and incompetence dragging upon his head, he is funding pseudo groups with taxpayers money to ridicule the man God’s place in a vintage and topnotch position to help his (Aiyedatiwa) life by calming the storm on his path to leadership.
The suspension is already dead on arrival. The authentic members of Igbotako Ward 2 have passed a Vote of Confidence on Senator Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim, CFR, last Thursday, at a well attended and documented Exco meeting in Igbotako. The Exco hailed him, supported him and urged him to continue to make them proud as a worthy son of Igbotako and reliable leader of APC in the Ward. So, who’s Backrolling the comedians to stage the Suspension Comedy Show?
To further discredit the suspension, the chairman of Igbotako ward 2, Adetokunbo Omotola, debunked the rumour of the purported suspension of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, CFR, describing the action as rude, fake and a total infringement on the rights of the Ward’s Exco members.
