Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Wednesday, alongside some top government functionaries in the state, received the Nigerian chief of Army staff Maj. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, who was accompanied by other top ranked military at the government house yola.
In his address, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri highlighted the strong collaboration between the Army and the state in maintaining peace and security for the residents, safeguarding lives, and protecting properties.
Governor Fintiri informed the chief of Army Staff that his administration has concluded plans to build schools at the 23 Brigade Yola and connect the Army base with the road network as part of his urban renewal initiative.
He further noted that although the security challenges bedevilling the nation are enormous, however expressed confidence in the quality and capacity of the Nigerian army to deal with the situation, especially if given the necessary support and boost.
Maj. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, reassured the governor of the ongoing support from the army in preserving peace and order within the state.
