Chairman elect of the National Association of Nigeria student, Ondo JCC axis, Comr. Oluwarotimi Tobiloba Joshua appreciates all stakeholders, friends, family and senators for their support during and after the election.
This was contained in a statement issued to Peoplesmind, rest of the message reads;
Let me use this medium to express my heartfelt appreciation for everyone’s unflinching support towards electing me as the new NANS JCC Chairman, Ondo State most especially Senators, Stakeholders and Emeritus Leaders.
This is a true testament to everyone’s commitment to the electoral process and the dedication to choose a capable leader for our esteemed association.
The collaboration and unity demonstrated during this election have set a remarkable example and landmark. The A4 election style (open ballot) that was adopted and implemented by all senators showcased transparency, fairness, and efficiency. By adopting this approach, we have not only ensured a smooth electoral process but also enhanced credibility and trust among members. The emphasis on accountability and inclusivity is truly inspiring and serves as a model for other NANS JCC election in other states to emulate.
As the new Chairman of NANS JCC Ondo, I want to assure you that your interests are our top priority and the welfare of each students and every institution will be pivotal in our administration while setting a new bar that will be second to none in terms of selfless and effective service to the general populace of students in Ondo State. Oppression will be deeply frowned at and we will always be available to discharge our duty promptly and swiftly. We are committed to listening to your concerns, advocating for your needs and creating a positive and inclusive environment for all students. Together, we will work towards a better and brighter future for our tertiary institution community.
Flowing from the above, it is imperative to ensure a robust interaction with the state government towards the agitations and demands that may arise from time to time. His Excellency Governor Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa who recently reached a commendable milestone of 100 days in office have shown unequivocally that the education sector will be a top-tier interest for his administration as this has been manifested in his achievements like the recruitment of 2000 teachers into the secondary schools, release of the sum of N550,000,000 for the payment of 2024 WAEC fees for public secondary school students and importantly, the payment of salary arrears of staff at the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo plus the N850 million naira subvention granted to the institution. These are not unnoticed.
It is als important to commend the Governor on the recent approval of N1bn for the construction of the new Senate building for the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo and another N1.2bn for completion of projects at the Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa. This is indeed a sigh of relief to our institutions in the state and the general citizens of Ondo State. The civil service is also not left out while infrastructure has been in top gear as well. Kudos to Mr Governor.
The apex body of students in the state appreciates Mr Governor and believe in his leadership and continuity to pilot the affairs of the state most especially the education sector while also wishing him success in the forthcoming elections.
On this last note, it is important to also appreciate the Coalition of Progressive Ambassadors led by Belele David Tamarau-Kuro, Aka Modulus for their tremendous support towards the success of the convention and I must not but also mention the NANS Senate President; Comrade Akinteye Babatunde Aka Babtee for his leadership role and his unflinching support.
Our special appreciation won’t be complete without also recognizing the support of Hon Ifeoluwa Ehindero representing the good people of Akoko Northeast/Northwest Federal Constituency, Chief Detail and CSO to the Executive Governor for their input in making the convention seamless.
While appreciating everyone that their name might not be captured, it is imperative to get down to work and make our institutions the cynosure of other states in the country. He added
