“Goodnight Baba Gbakinro”, says Kolade Akinjo
The leading gubernatorial aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Hon. Kolade Victor Akinjo has expressed shock and sadness over the passing of the former Ondo State PDP Chairman, Dr. Jacob Gbakinro.
Baba Gbakinro, until his demise, was a medical doctor and Chief Medical Director of his private hospital at Ile-Oluji. He was a renowned politician who served as the Chairman of the Ondo State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) between the year 1999 and 2001.
Speaking to newsmen earlier today in Akure, the state capital, Hon. Akinjo described the death of Baba Gbakinro as huge lost to the People’s Democratic Party(PDP). He said, “With Baba Gbakinro’s death, the PDP has lost a strong pillar and a committed party man. His exit has created a huge vacuum”
“Baba would be remembered for his patriotic and outstanding contributions to the growth of the party, especially during its formative years”.
The former lawmaker further consoled with the immediate family of Baba Jacob Gbakinro, the people of Ile-Oluji, the entire leaders and members of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) in Ondo State on his demise.
According to him, “My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Baba Gbakinro and the people of Ile-Oluji over the passing of their Patriach. I pray that God should grant his soul eternal repose and all of us he left behind as family, friends, colleagues, party leaders and members the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss”.
