A food content creator and Director of Brian’s Abuja Food Quest, Mr Brian Monachimso Nwana, has declared interest to break the Guinness World Record (GWR) by visiting over 165 restaurants in different parts of Abuja.
At a press conference Monday in Abuja, Brian said the present record is being held by an American, whom he said visited 100 restaurants within 24 hours in New York City, hence he wants to break the record by visiting over 165 restaurants across Gwarinpa, Maitama and Wuse within 24 hours.
He said he will start the attempt on Wednesday, 24th April, at Chicken Republic, 1st Avenue in Gwarinpa, then move to Wuse 2, where he will camp with members of his team in the night and then end the quest on Thursday, April 25th, at a restaurant at Central Business District by 5pm.
He said the attempt to break the GWR is in line with his profession of promoting businesses as the visit to over 165 restaurants within Abuja will open up more business opportunities for the owners, adding that he will be using the power of social media to showcase their foods for more patronage by interested Nigerians.
Brian urged Abuja residents to come out en mass and support him to break the GWR as he will be trekking over 20 kilometers with his team across the three chosen areas as part of the requirements by the GWR, since using cars or unrecognized public transportation system is prohibited by GWR.
Also speaking, the CEO of A.S. Management Agency (the management company behind the quest), Rhoda Kusimo, said the quest will help to put Abuja businesses on the global map as many of them are presently not known beyond their localities.
On his part, the Project Manager, Edoh Franklin, said the team has applied to the GWR and will follow all the rules and regulations recommended by the GWR, especially with regards to live tracking and map, even as he urged Abuja residents to come out and cheer Brian to victory.
Similarly, the CEO of Kaine Kranda Show, Kaine Kranda, said that, though there are several attempts by many Nigerians to break different records, thereby seemingly abusing things and making Nigerians not to take them seriously, after Hilda Bacci, Brian’s case is different as he will be walking amidst risks of vehicular and human traffic.
On his part, the Head of Security, Pollyn Fubara, said he has put measures in place to ensure adequate security for the team and fans, including making arrangements with security agencies to provide security for the activities, especially as they will be walking deep into the night.
