OLU-ISA is the real pronunciation not Olisa,
Some Obas now create the post of Olisa in their domains to rival the administrative structure of Ijebu Ode. However, these newly created Olisas in the districts use itagbe they do not have palace “Afin” of their own and no crown as the Oba Ogu’ja Olu-Isa (Olisa)of Ijebu-Ode. Though the creation of the post of mere Honorary Chiefs in the suburbs and titling them as “Olisa” tends to create confusion. Historical facts and tradition distinguish the titles. While Oguja Olisa’s domain since time immemorial is Ijebu Ode, the suburbs Olisas have no domain.
