Jurgen Klopp could not contain his frustration after Liverpool drew 2-2 with Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.
Jurgen Klopp expects Arsenal to beat Man Utd at Old Trafford on May 11.
Liverpool were in complete control at half-time against a United team that had not managed a single shot on goal in the first 45 minutes. Luis Diaz converted from a corner to put the visitors in front in Manchester.
But brilliant goals from Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo, taking advantage of poor Liverpool defending, sent Old Trafford into a frenzy and put United in the ascendancy. The Reds rescued a late draw through Mohamed Salah from the penalty spot after Harvey Elliott had been tripped by Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Yet Liverpool still had enough chances to win the match comfortably. And Klopp admits their title rivals Arsenal, who have won 10 of their 11 league matches in 2024 after a 3-0 thrashing of Brighton on Saturday night, should beat United at the same stadium on May 11.
Klopp conceded post-match: “Arsenal is a good football team and if [United] play like they did today, Arsenal will win that game, I’m 100 per cent sure. I’m really sorry to say that but this is a matter of fact.
“We should’ve won both games [in the league and FA Cup vs United] and didn’t. That’s our fault. In all the time I’ve been here, we never dominated United like we did in these two games
“We are who we are and we are where we are where [in the table] and I’m absolutely fine with that. I knew it would be super tricky until the end. Until yesterday, we were top of the table, now it’s Arsenal. We want to be top after 38 matches.”
