In response to the baseless, defamatory, deceptive and slanderous claims put forth in a recent press statement co-signed by one Mr Fatai Adeshina Lawal and Mr Elefola Solomon, it is imperative to clarify and correct the misleading narrative concerning the endorsement meeting that transpired in Owo. The aspersions cast on the distinguished individuals who attended the gathering are unfounded and reek of malicious intent.
The endorsement meeting held in Owo garnered the esteemed presence of individuals who hold significant influence and standing within the APC of Owo/Ose Federal Constituency. It is disingenuous to dismiss their credibility and capabilities by labeling them as “mediocres” or “self-serving leaders.”
The attendees, including His Excellency, Dr Olayide Adelami Mni, the Deputy Governor of Ondo state, Chief Olugbenga ALE, the Chief of Staff to the late governor, Pa T.S. Akinrinbola, the Chairman, Council of Elders, APC, Owo Local Government, Hon. Maxima Oshati, member, Ondo State House of Assembly, representing Ose constituency, Alhaji Chief Jamiyu Ekungba, Hon. Samuel Balogun, the Chairman, APC Owo Local Government, Chief Ladi Tenabe, the Chairman, APC Ose Local Government, Hon. Femi Idris, Hon Dennis Alonge, Princess Olufunmilayo Brown, Hon. Fola Akinsehinde, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo, Arch. Tunde Imolehin, Hon Eniolorunda Omosule, Pastor Olugbenga Olumolawa, Hon. Musa Mukaila, Hon. Olayemi Adeyemi, all past Council Chairmen of Owo Local Government, immediate past Council Chairman of Ose Local Government, all ward executives from the 23 wards of the federal Constituency, Youth leaders and other dignitaries, have demonstrated a deep commitment to the progress and development of our constituency. Their presence at the meeting signifies a unified front in support of the endorsed candidate, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa.
It is regrettable that unfounded accusations and attempts to discredit the attendees and the endorsement have been made. We stand firm in our condemnation of such misrepresentations and affirm that the individuals present at the meeting possess integrity, dedication, and a genuine interest in advancing the interests of our constituency.
The condemnation of the endorsement by one Mr. Fatai Adeshina Lawal and his cohorts lacks merit and credibility due to their questionable track record and lack of public trust. These individuals, who allegedly question the endorsement’s validity, have themselves been rejected by the constituents they claim to represent. Their past and present performance in elective and appointive positions and roles under the late governor reflects a lack of tangible impact on the community. Mr. Fatai’s association with sponsoring thuggery and violence rather than positive contributions further diminishes their standing to criticize the endorsement process. Their inability to address the genuine needs of the people questions their integrity and disqualifies them from casting doubt on the credibility of the endorsed candidate and the leaders who supported him.
In a resounding show of support, community chiefs, economic leaders, political figures, and non-indigenous representatives who were non members of All Progressive Congress, APC flocked the Civic center to endorse Governor Aiyedatiwa. Their unified voices reverberated in solidarity, highlighting Owo’s legacy as a beacon of progressive politics. The absence of some individuals mentioned by Fatai during the endorsement should not diminish the overwhelming endorsement. Many of the individuals listed by Fatai, whose absence he claims has undermined the credibility of the endorsement, were indeed part of the organisers and were scheduled to participate in the endorsement program but were unavoidably absent. It is inappropriate for him to associate their names with their group which the entire Owo and Ose people had perceived as insignificant and unlikely to contribute positively to our federal constituency. Fatai and his allies should consider aligning with progress instead of condemning the endorsement, lest they join the ranks of obsolete dissenters.
By and large, we urge the public to discern the truth from baseless and obnoxious attacks and reject attempts to sow discord and division among the ranks of our esteemed leaders. The endorsement meeting in Owo was a testament to unity and collective support for a worthy candidate, and we stand by our endorsement with pride and conviction.
