The prominent governorship aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo state, Hon. Kolade Victor Akinjo has assured the good people of Ondo State of his readiness to turn around the economy of the State.
The two-term House of Representatives member who represented Ilaje/Ese-odo federal constituency, while speaking with some stakeholders of the party in Akure, the state capital, said his blueprint to turn around the economy of the state would soon be made public.
According to him, “the roadmap is predicated on his forward thinking developmental agenda which include: growing our economy; providing quality social services; strengthening our people and society; and energising government and polity”.
“With the right person in the right position, Ondo state has what it takes to be investor-friendly. You can only give what you have. I am a tested and trusted person. I also have empathy. I was trained in one of the best school in the world. I know how to start from nothing and build up something of value. I know how to manage resources and pull talents together in order to achieve beneficial results.
Our mission is to have in place the right infrastructure, including accessibility, access to power, and a youthful and educated population. I will generate and promote entrepreneurship, youth development, sports and skill acquisition. Ondo state under my leadership will become a prosperous state”.
Akinjo further said, his administration is going to explore and exploit the agricultural potentials of the state to improve on its Internally generated revenue capacity and stem the rate of unemployment in the state.
“When we take over the reign of power from the incumbent, job creation, empowerment and capacity building will be our primary focus. We are going to be very aggressive in making our youth happy in our time”.
The former Special Assistant to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration said he remain committed to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) because the party has given him the voice, recognition and popularity needed and that he has never worked against the interest of the party in any election.
He therefore charged delegates of the party to dredge up sufficient courage to make him the party’s flag bearer to guarantee victory for the party in the coming Governorship election in Ondo State.
