This journey includes eight years as a Member of the House of Representatives and another eight within the Presidency of Nigeria, showcasing a breadth of experience that spans the very heart of national governance.
Akinjo’s academic journey reflects a continuous pursuit of knowledge, beginning with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, in 1999. His quest for learning propelled him through an array of prestigious institutions, acquiring a Certificate in Conflict Resolution & Management from the University of Rhode Island, USA, in 2002, and advancing to a Master of Public Administration from the University of Abuja in 2006. The same year, he enriched his legal foundation with an Advanced Diploma in Law from the University of Jos, Plateau State. His expertise was further honed at Harvard Business School, where he completed the Programme for Leadership Development among four other leadership programs, earning him Alumnus Status. His commitment to legislative excellence was exemplified by his Master of Science in Legislative Studies from the University of Benin in partnership with the National Institute for Legislative Studies in
2018. By 2019, he had attained a Bachelor of Laws from Ondo State followed by a Barrister of Laws from the Nigerian Law School, Abuja, in 2021 Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Leadership and Strategic Studies at Federal University of Lokoja, a testament to his unwavering dedication to leadership and governance.
Akinjo’s legislative accomplishments are marked by active involvement in the amendment of several key bills, including those focused on national television authority, population management, the Niger Delta Development Commission, and
Women’s empowerment, among others. His efforts in proposing the Nigerian Rural Infrastructural Development Commission (Establishment) Bill and the Coastal Development Commission(Establishment) Bill, as well as his pivot role in the repeal of the Public Enterprises (Privatization and Commercialization) Act the Public Asset Reform Bill, 2021, underscore his dedication to governance.
