The police in Delta says it has arrested a kidnap suspect, while also rescuing three female victims in the forest of Egbudu-Akah community, in Aniocha-south local government area of Delta state.
In a statement by the state police command spokesperson Edafe Bright made available to our correspondent, a concerned citizen was said to be hunting in the forest when he sighted three kidnappers and three female victims.
According to the police, the citizen ran to the nearest police station as the DPO mobilized his patrol team and local vigilante into the forest, which led to the arrest of one suspect while two others escaped after they engage the police in a shootout.
The three female victims are said to be receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital for medical services, as it was also revealed that the kidnappers had earlier demanded the sum of fifteen million naira ransom before police swooped on them.
Items recovered include 3 cutlasses, 2 phones, solar panel as well as charms and two torch lights.
