At least 87 villagers were abducted when bandits invaded two Kaduna communities of Gangere and Aguna under Kufana District of Kajuru Local Government Area.
It was gathered that the incident happened in the early hours of Monday.
Details of the incident remained sketchy but the victims were taken to unknown destination.
Harisu Dari, a member of the Kajuru-Station Youths, confirmed the incident, highlighting the terror that struck around 10 pm.
A resident and youth leader, Ben Yuhana, confirmed the incident, saying, “Bandits entered Gangere and Aguba villages in Kufana District Kufana Chiefdom Kajuru LGA and kidnapped 87 persons between yesterday night and the early hours of today. I will keep you updated.”
According to eyewitness reports, the attackers not only abducted civilians but also pillaged shops, looting food items and other valuables. This marks another grim chapter in the escalating crisis, with this assault following closely on the heels of the abduction of 15 women and a man in the Dogon-Noma Community just days prior.
