The Princess of Wales has been pictured for the first time since undergoing abdominal surgery in January – after an American website published photos of her being driven by her mother near Windsor today.
Princess Kate flashed a seemingly low-key smile as she was snapped in the front seat of her mum, Carole Middleton’s car today. The senior royal has been away from public life since Christmas after she underwent planned abdominal surgery in January.
Kensington Palace forewarned she would be recovering for weeks and would not be set to return to public duties until after Easter, which is at the end of March. However, today (March 4), it’s reported Kate accompanied her mum on the school run.
The pictures were published by US gossip website TMZ but not in the UK after Kensington Palace appealed for her to be able to recuperate in private.
The grainy pictures published by US website TMZ show the princess wearing sunglasses and a coat in the front of an Audi 4×4 as she was spotted near Windsor Castle.
Kate was pictured wearing sunglasses in the passenger seat of a 4×4 Audi, which her mother Carole Middleton was driving near Windsor Castle. The photos were taken shortly before 9am, suggesting the mother and daughter were returning from the school run.
It comes after it was claimed last night that Kate’s ‘black sheep’ uncle Gary Goldsmith, Carole’s brother, was scolded by the princess’s parents after reportedly signing up to Celebrity Big Brother amid fears he could spill secrets about the Royal Family.
On January 17 Kensington Palace announced that Kate had been admitted to The London Clinic the previous day for ‘planned abdominal surgery’.
The last time she was seen was on Christmas Day with her three children at the annual Sandringham church service.
