•••Pledges support to bereaved family.
The members of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria(ALGON), Rivers State Chapter has paid a condolence visit to Hon. Rowland Sekibo, Local Government Chairman of Akulga and to the Sekibo’s family of Akulga over the demise of his/their beloved father, Chief Deacon Charles W. Sekibo whose sad event happened on the 24th of February 2024 at the age of 73 years.
Sir (Hon.) Allwell Ihunda, Mayor of Phalga who led the delegation and spoke on behalf of ALGON Rivers State Chapter, said the visit was to commiserate with the family because they are aware of the pain that is associated with the lost of a father and loved one. Further, he said the lost is a painful one and irreparable no matter how old he has lived because he cannot be seen again.
He prayed that God Almighty will give the family the will and fortitude to bear the lost and letting them know of their willingness to support them during the burial. ” Your late father was a disciplinarian, In solidarity we are with you.” He added.
Earlier on, the Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Hon. (Dr.) Samuel Nwanosike, DSSRS who was part of the delegation has consoled with his colleague–Rowland whom he calls ‘My brother and my friend’.
Speaking for the Family, Dr. Rowland Sekibo, Head of the Sekibo’s Family thanked members of ALGON, whom he described as his lovely colleagues for their show of love towards the family. He maintained that, his brothers and every member of the family expresses thankfulness for the timely visit. Speaking further, he assured of keeping them abreast for the final preparation to bury their father.
The members before they departed finally prayed for the bereaved family. They asked God almighty to console them in this trying time and give them peace of mind.
