*If Temitayo Oluwatuyi, also known as Tukana, Mrs. Olamide Falana, Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan, Barrister Akin Sowore, Engineer Rasak Obe, and Dr. Olumide Adelami (those who recently received appointments from H.E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa) were Aketi’s sworn enemies, what the cabals are simply saying through their agents is that Arakunrin never had a friend during his lifetime.*
*The big question that these desperadoes haven’t answered is: if the presidency decides to drop H.E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa today, who will they present to the Asiwaju of Lagos as their consensus candidate? As long as these opposition groups against H.E. Aiyedatiwa in APC will never have a consensus candidate among themselves, they have indirectly made H.E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa their preferred flag bearer to Mr. President.*
There is no doubt that the recently dismantled cabals of the last administration led by Aketi are currently frustrated and in pain in the Sunshine State. Their problem is anchored on unprecedented courage exhibited by these power mongers who had their lives furnished during the last administration, in challenging the decision of the almighty God. I once told some people that the cabals of Ondo State are presently going through a season that could be likened to a sucking baby who was suddenly stopped from breastfeeding without prior weaning process. Obviously, the mother of such a child would experience unprecedented discomfort from the reactions of the little child. The kind of enjoyment these few individuals had under Aketi, which became a thing of the past without adequate preparation for this dry season, is the reason for all sorts of shenanigans from these perishing souls.
From my in-depth knowledge of the happenings in Ondo State, Arakunrin was the architect of our current political upheaval, which unprecedentedly bedeviled the people of Sunshine State. Following the fallout with his previous deputy, H.E. Agboola Ajayi, he saw a calm, supportive, loyal, and cool-headed individual in H.E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who had earlier supported him by lending Aketi his bullet-proof jeep in 2012 at the expense of Aiyedatiwa’s life. I remember vividly during the inauguration of our committees for the campaign where I served as the vice-chairman (medical), Arakunrin openly eulogized H.E. Aiyedatiwa and doubted the possibility of being betrayed by this Ilaje man. I thank God this man never backstabbed his boss except the stage-managed one from the cabals. In his acceptance speech after the swearing-in ceremony in 2021, Aketi indirectly prophesied about his newly found deputy taking over from him in the governorship capacity. Since then, some people in the cabinet started scheming to frustrate the amiable deputy governor then.
The moment Aketi’s sickness became obvious, following a declaration by his wife, Mrs. Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu, using the word “peradventure” Aketi dies, which is a constitutional thing that Lucky takes over. This was an eye-opener for the desperate individuals, permutating how the Nigerian constitution would be trampled upon through illegal means, ensuring H.E. Aiyedatiwa never governed the state, in which they failed because it was against the divine order. When Aketi was seriously sick, taken to Germany for treatment in the first three months of the medical leave, they capitalized on their robust relationship with the late governor to undermine his power as an acting governor after they had earlier failed to prevent him from assuming the position. Not knowing they were fighting against destiny and God, the persecution of this businessman turned Governor by these desperate fellows was allowed by God for him to gain more sympathy from the masses of Ondo State.
To further confirm that God was not with the evildoers, their camp is polarized by their ambitions, in which all of them were also politicking to outsmart one another in the choice of who takes the governorship seat. The biggest question awaiting the answer of these unrepentant individuals opposing the candidacy of H.E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa in Ondo 2024 is: If the presidency decides to drop H.E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa today, who will these desperadoes present as their consensus candidate? As long as these strange fellows will never have a consensus candidate among themselves, they have made H.E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa their preferred person to the Asiwaju of Lagos State. What should be known by our politicians is that power belongs to God and He gives it to anyone He likes.
As it stands today in Ondo State, H.E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa remains the only candidate of APC that has 80% support with the masses. There is no amount of propaganda that can change the plan of God for a man of purpose in life. I recently understood why the current governor of Ondo State has been unshakeable in his disposition even at the eye of the storm. He knew all this would happen and has the backing of the maker of the universe to govern this state for the next five years. This is one of the reasons why the governor is still surprised by my unwavering support for him when there was no hope, believing that only God who had promised him in secret could touch my heart to follow him then.
If the desperation to malign Mr. Governor in Ondo State by the cabals has reached a level of calling these people Aketi’s sworn enemies, e.g., Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi (Tukana), who was appointed by Aketi as a commissioner and promoted to secretary to the state government when Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde (Abena) from Akure resigned as the Sunshine’s scribe towards the end of Aketi’s first term, Mrs. Olumide Falana, who was appointed as the special adviser on female gender by Arakunrin through the nomination of Mama Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu, Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan, who was among the few longest-serving commissioners in Aketi’s cabinet.
Both Barrister Akin Sowore and Engineer Rasak Obe started the second term with Aketi and were commissioners till Aketi’s death recently. Dr. Olumide Adelami, though contested against Aketi but as a kinsman to Aketi, from Owo, openly campaigned for Arakunrin’s re-election in 2020 after APC primary in which he lost to his elder brother (Aketi). Also, another Owo man who encouraged Aketi to contest for governorship in 2012 when Arakunrin was still busy with his career in the legal world, Mr. Adekola Olawoye SAN, all these aforementioned individuals are now Aketi’s sworn enemies, according to these cabals, it’s obvious Aketi never had a friend throughout his lifetime.
