Ondo Rep Drama: A Representative Who Towered High In Inanity, but docile In duty, Ondo Youth coordinator lashes Rep Derin Adesida over reappearance since after election
By Afe Ezekiel Adegboyega, Ondo State Youth Network Coordinator
When the purpose of something is not known, abuse, they say is inevitable or better put, when the intention of a runner is in contrast overlap with the purpose of what he is running for, running amiss is inevitable.
Hon. Derin Adesida, the member representing the good people of Akure North and South at the HOR, as a familiar face in the business of legislation owing to his previous engagement in the same capacity he’s currently serving is expected to know the mandate given to him by the people of Akure comes with expectation; expectations in terms of his KPIs (Key Performance Indicator) which are;
Âą Contribution to the legislative framework of the Nation
² Advancing discourse around the interest on his constituency at the floor of the house
Âł Lobbying development to his constituency and constituents.
These KPIs as simple as they may seems requires brilliance, smart positioning, understanding of the politics of the legislative house, and seriousness to promptly deliver.
Since his emergence as the Akure North /South Member House Of Representatives, Hon. Derin Adesida rather than deploying his perceived experience on delivering on the mandate given him by his people has obviously been invisible within the constituency and at the floor of the Green Chamber. Hon. Adesida has continue to justify the claims of people who said he sees his current undertaking as his retirement plan by his deliberate abandonment of his duties as MOR.
In almost one year in office, he has scored zero in the bearest minimums; as far as I know, he is the only representative without a functional constitiency office where constituents can connect with his programs, he has no known aide/aides, and above all, his voice, like a horse with a strapped leather is its mouth, has been recklessly silent.
It’s however surprising and disappointing that the first engagement of the MOR is a self-serving, relevance-seeking, and frivolous coup against Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. The MOR not realising that the relevance he soughted is enmeshed in how well he deliver quality representation to his people decided to add salt to injury by embarking on a mission his constituents sees as a careless oversight and self-serving.
While I’m particularly not opposed to politicians playing politics, I find it a act of responsibility for elected public servants to judiciously put to use the privilege of service handed them while they play politics on the side, but in the case of my MOR, he has chosen to priortise frivolous engagement over the duties of his office, and it’s imperative that we tell him before it’s too late.
I urge Hon. derin Adesida to retrace his step by facing and delivering on the mandate he has while he play politics on the sideline, if he has to do.
His continued redundant tendencies in his primary assignment and activeness in frivolity will be met with strong resistance by we, his constituent going forward.
