A SUBJECT TO THE NEW DAWN EXPECTATION.
Part2
In the realm of political campaigning, it is common for candidates and political parties to resort to the use of propaganda in order to sway public opinion and gain support. However, the use of political propaganda can often be misleading and divisive, leading to a lack of focus on the actual issues at hand. In order to promote a more informed and constructive political discourse, it is essential for candidates to prioritize issue-based campaigns over the dissemination of propaganda.
Issue-based campaigns are centered around discussing and addressing the key problems and challenges facing society, rather than resorting to tactics that seek to manipulate or deceive the public. By focusing on the issues, candidates can engage in meaningful debates and discussions that allow voters to make informed decisions based on the policies and solutions put forth by each candidate.
As the gubernatorial primaries in Ondo state draw closer, it is pertinent to note, that the only way we can build back the trust lost on the government of the day, is to allow the best qualified personality to hold the steering wheel of governance in the governorship election coming up later this year. In addition, letting the people take a right decision which is crucial to us as a people, is to have issue-based campaigns so that it becomes easy for all to decide right when exhibiting their franchise.
One of the main advantages of issue-based campaigns is that they promote transparency and accountability in the political process. When candidates are forced to address specific issues and provide concrete plans for addressing them, voters are able to hold them accountable for their promises and actions. This helps to foster a sense of trust and credibility between candidates and the electorates.
Furthermore, issue-based campaigns help to elevate the level of political discourse and encourage candidates to engage in substantive debates on important policy matters. By focusing on the issues, candidates are able to showcase their knowledge, expertise, and vision for the future, rather than relying on empty rhetoric and sensationalist tactics.
In contrast, political propaganda often serves to distort the truth, manipulate emotions, and create division among voters. Propaganda can be used to demonize others, spread misinformation, and distract from the real issues that need to be addressed. This can ultimately undermine the democratic process and prevent electorates from making informed decisions based on facts and evidence.
Therefore, shunning political propaganda and prioritizing issue-based campaigns is essential for promoting a more informed, transparent, and constructive political discourse. By focusing on the issues, candidates can engage in meaningful debates, foster trust and accountability, and ultimately work towards addressing the pressing challenges facing the Ondo State of today.
As the people, who over time trusted our directions in terms of choosing the best among others, we as a pressure group, shall continue to be an advocate of positivity and good governance. And while putting all candidates on a track record test, we shall carefully and solidly advocate for the right peg, who will be a life line for us in Ondo State as a new dispensation beckons.
