We have noted with concern the recent open letter from certain members of the Ondo State All Progressives Congress (APC) Caucus in the House of Representatives, addressing alleged personal grievances against Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. While we respect the right to express opinions, it’s crucial to ensure accuracy and fairness in such communications should relates to the genuine people’s interest being a holder of the people’s mandate.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, since assuming office, has demonstrated a commitment to the progress and development of Ondo State. His actions and decisions have been aimed at advancing the welfare of citizens and promoting good governance.
Regarding appointments and administrative decisions, it’s imperative to recognize that every leader has the prerogative to assemble a team that aligns with their vision and goals for the state. Governor Aiyedatiwa’s appointments have been made in the interest of the state’s welfare and not out of personal vendettas.
The recent dissolution of local government structures was a strategic move aimed at enhancing efficiency and accountability in governance. Such decisions are made based on careful considerations of the state’s needs and requirements for effective administration.
Furthermore, attributing achievements and initiatives to Governor Aiyedatiwa that were initiated or approved by his predecessor is misleading. It’s essential to acknowledge the collective efforts of past and present administrations in advancing the state’s development agenda.
As members of the APC, it’s incumbent upon us to prioritize party unity and cohesion above personal interests. Constructive dialogue and engagement are vital in resolving differences and strengthening the party’s position ahead of the forthcoming elections.
We therefore encourage and urge the lawmakers to focus on delivering positively with the people’s mandate given to them and form alliance to bring development to the constituents rather than the ugly collaboration of theirs to play politics. While we remain confident in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership and his ability to steer Ondo State towards greater prosperity and progress. Let us focus our energies on collective efforts to advance the party’s agenda and deliver meaningful results for the people of Ondo State.
