Cement manufacturers have agreed to lower the price of the product to between N7,000 and N8,000 per 50kg nationwide, following discussions led by Minister of Works David Umahi and attended by officials from the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment.
The meeting aimed to address the recent surge in commodity prices, with manufacturers expressing their readiness to adjust prices further once government interventions are fulfilled.
BUA Industries also announced plans to introduce 6 million tons of cement to the market to help stabilize prices.
Additionally, the federal government intends to support the establishment of six new manufacturers.
