The Adamawa state government through the Adamawa Agribusiness Support Programme (ADAS-P) has officially handed over the construction of standard drainages to “Rocad Construction Company Limited” across some cattle/grains Markets in the state in other to control flood disasters in the areas.
The handing-over committee visited grains/cattle markets in Ganye, Toungo, Ngurore, Tingno, Song and Gombi.
Other grains/castles markets visited for the official handing over include Mubi, Gurin and Chigari in Fufore LGA respectively.
Speaking during the handing over ceremony in various markets, the Head of the component two department of ADAS-P Mr. James Birdling called on the construction company to work in line with the contractual agreement within the time frame.
Mr. James called market leaders in all areas to give maximum support and cooperation to the contractor handling work to enable him to succeed.
On his part, the Consultant of the project Engineer Kenedy, assured that they will strictly supervise and ensure the work is up to Standard and is done as agreed with the contractor.
Responding, the chairman Ngurore cattle dealers Mal. Bamanga Salihu who doubles as the Head of the market (Sarki Kasuwa) expressed his readiness to give his maximum support and cooperation to the construction fame.
In the Gurin grains market, the head of the market (Sarki Kasuwa) Mal. Mohammed Usman who is visibly delighted said the program is timely, considering the nature of the market and thanked ADAS-P for their timely intervention.
During the handing over in Toungo Grains Market, The Head of all Markets in Toungo LGA (Sarkin Kasuwa Toungo) Mal. Khalid Mohammed called on dealers and all the market stakeholders to give their maximum cooperation to ADAS-P, the contractor handling the work and the Adamawa state government for bringing such an important development.
On their part, the construction company
“Road Construction Company Limited” pledged to justify the confidence repose in them doing the work according to the contractual agreement.
As of Tuesday, reports confirmed that the contractor has already packed to the site and work is going on at Mubi.
