Ahead of the second tenure inauguration of the governor of Bayelsa State, tomorrow 14th February, 2024, the Senator representing Rivers South East Senatorial district, Senator Barinada Mpigi, today led a high powered delegation of some political leaders and traditional rulers of Ogoni extraction on a Congratulatory visit to His Excellency, Governor Duoye Diri.
Sen. Dr. Barinada Mpigi who is chairman senate committee on works, said the purpose of the visit, is to further cement the age-long relationship that exist between the Ogonis and the good people of Bayelsa State, and the Governor.
“Your Excellency, after the elections, by the symbolic position and relationship between the Ogonis and the good people of Bayelsa State, especially the the governor of Bayelsa State, the Supreme council of Ogoni traditional rulers deem it necessary to come and show the ties between the Ogonis and Bayelsa State as a mark of solidarity ahead of your second tenure inauguration as governor of Bayelsa State”.
The Ogoni delegation used the opportunity to invite the Governor of Bayelsa State to attend the Senatorial Victory Thanksgiving Service of Senator Barinada Mpigi holding this Saturday, 17th February, 2024 in Koroma, Tai local government area.
Traditional rulers and leaders in the delegation includes His Majesty, King Dr Suanu TY Baridam, Gbene Mene Bua Bangha Kingdom, HRH Men F N Nwidag, the Mene Bua Bean, HRH Mene Frank Nam, the Mene Bua Sogho, HRH Mene Dr T. Tornwen, the Mene Bua Borue, Engr Barr Gideon Deemor, former CTC chairman Tai LGA and former Commissioner Pension Board, Barr Baride Gwezia, Hon Korne Ngbor and Comrade Vincent Laba.
