In a bid to improve the ambience and aesthetic appearance of Anambra streets and neighbourhoods, Anambra State government has introduced a House Re-painting challenge tagged “Ka Anambra Chakee” , which will run from first February to tenth of March this year.
According to a statement issued by Anambra State Ministry of Environment and Anambra Urban Registrations Council, all owners of houses located in public view areas within the neighbourhoods where roads are being constructed are requested to re-paint their houses according to approved colour codes.
It said that the streets will be judged on three key criteria which are House repainting, clean environment and clear drainage and houses that have planted approved trees.
The release said that the streets capable of initiating and finishing the re-painting of houses within their vicinity by tenth March 2024 have the opportunity to receive ten million naira for the first prize, five million naira for the second prize and three million naira for the third prize respectively.
It urged Landlords of properties within these neighbourhoods to collaborate with the government to improve the environmental ambience of the State.
