In the early hours of saturday, February 3rd, I received informations about a female student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, who was stabbed to death in her private hostel of residence by an unknown assailant who is still at large, till this moment.
Myself, alongside my team and the acting JCC Chairman of Ondo axis, arrived the institution where we were received by the Students’ Union executives of AAUASU, led by their president, Comr. Mayomi Adekanye. We proceeded to the hostel where the dastardly act was perpetrated and we addressed other residents of the hostel.
Afterwards, we moved to the police division in the town, where a report has been made already. We met with the DPO and discussed with him at length, where he assured us of the police’s fullest cooperation in ensuring the evil perpetrator is brought to book in no time. While, we appreciate the commitments and dedication of the police officers to this case, we are also calling for improved security measures for our Students and we also beseech all Students to be security conscious and should never hesitate to report anything/anybody that looks suspicious in their environment.
Conclusively, I send my deepest condolences to the family of the deceased, the Students community of Adekunle Ajasin University and the institution’s management.
E-SIGNED;
COMR. AKINTEYE BABATUNDE AFEEZ,
PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE, NANS NATIONAL.
