The following week they come back to tell me that someone paid their bride price and they are now married . When asked if they were not aware the man was coming to pay their bride price before asking me for rent money , the usual excuse is that the man was talking about it but did not effect it and suddenly called to set a date for bride price .
In the future any woman asking me to pay her rent must provide the landlord’s account and if I am inclined to help , I will pay the landlord directly and collect a copy of the house key for myself and put some of my suitcases there
