The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is planning to transfer some of its departments to Lagos State to decongest the apex bank’s head office.
The move is reportedly aimed at increasing staff productivity, cutting costs, and ensuring safety.
The affected departments include Banking Supervision, Other Financial Institutions Supervision, Consumer Protection Department,
Payment System Management Department, and Financial Policy Regulations Department.
Some staff members have reportedly resisted the transfer, claiming it is motivated by tribal sentiments, while others argue it is for their safety and increased efficiency.
