The French government has expressed its willingness to collaborate with Nigeria to curb the rise in terrorism and other forms of insecurity that have been troubling the country in recent decades.
This was made known during the visit of the outgoing Ambassador of France to Nigeria, Emmanuelle Blatmann, to the Ship House in Abuja.
Blatmann stated the need to develop cooperation in intelligence sharing between the two countries in the fight against extremism, terrorist movements, and regional insecurity.
The Nigerian Minister of Defence, Mohammed Abubakar said that Nigeria was eager to build on the existing relationship between the two countries, pointing out that training and technology transfer would further strengthen the bilateral relations both countries have shared.
While appreciating the outgoing Ambassador for her cordial relationship with Nigeria, he said both countries are strategic partners and promised to further strengthen this partnership to higher levels of operations.
