Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai will this weekend be honoured with the chieftaincy title of Gbobaniyi of Ijebuland by the Awujale HRM Dr. Sikiru Kayode Adetona.
El-Rufai’s media adviser Muyiwa Adekeye disclosed this on Wednesday in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
Adekeye also shared a congratulatory message sent to El-Rufai by Pastor and Mrs Tunde Bakare.
In the message, Bakare wrote “Your penchant for good governance is one of the most outstanding virtues I have always admired about you.
“Your unreserved loyalty and commitment to public interest have never been in doubt since our paths crossed.
“Therefore, it is with great joy that we received the news of your being honored with the chieftaincy title, Gbobaniyi of Ijebuland, by the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, HRM Alaiyeluwa Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona (Ogbagba II), CFR, JP.
“The Gbobaniyi of ljebuland is a highly respected title in the Ijebu Kingdom. This is because the bearer of such a title has the responsibility of promoting the king’s image, as well as fostering the overall social-economic development and growth of ljebuland.
