The N27.5 trillion 2024 Appropriation Bill has passed its second reading in the Senate.
Lawmakers engaged in debates on its general principles during plenary. Senators, including Adams Oshiomole, emphasised the need for appropriations to complete vital infrastructure like the Benin-Auchi Road.
While praising the budget, Sen. Franchis Fadahunsi called for increased allocations to ensure the completion of roads in Osun and other regions.
Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe stressed the importance of adequate funding for the power sector, emphasising its role in employment generation and overall economic functionality.
Former Senate President Ahmad Lawan commended President Tinubu for the budget and urged continued legislative support. He also called for scrutiny of the implementation of previous budgets.
