I read with dismay, the fabrication of falsehood orchestrated against the State President of the Nigeria Union Of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Ondo State Chapter, Comrade Bola Taiwo, who also doubles as the Commissioner in the Local Government Service Commission, which is aimed at distortion of obvious truth to misinform and mislead the general public.
Engineer Bola Taiwo is a complete gentleman and a law abiding citizen that will not in anyway act unconstitutionally. He was elected as the NULGE President in Ondo State in 2019 and his tenure will come to an end in 2024, after which the newly elected President will be inaugurated on the 9th of January, 2024.
NULGE issue is a constitutional issue with a Gazette. The Gazette that established NULGE stipulated that there must be one NULGE representative in the Local Government Service Commission and the NULGE President was appointed by the Governor to representative union in the Commission. The general public should be aware of the fact that there is a huge distinction between union and politics, and I wish to equip the public with the information below:
1. The Gazette that established NULGE stipulated that a member of NULGE should represent them in the Commission and the NULGE President appointed serve in that capacity. The State Government gave him a leave of absent immediately he was appointed, because his appointment is a Full-time appointment.
2.That his tenure has witnessed a huge success as workers’ welfare is prioritized and it is evident, as workers now experience prompt payment of salary.
3. His tenure has restored unprecedented mutual relashionship amongst workers and the leadership of the Union.
In the previous years, it has always been a rofo-rofo whenever we wanted to conduct election in each Local Government Branch, but since he assumed office, there has been nothing of such and no litigation like we witnessed in the previous years.
I think the public should appreciate Comrade Bola Taiwo, rather than author a falsehood against his person. He added.
