ACCORDING TO A RECENT SOURCE, GOV. AKEREDOLU MAY GO AGAIN FOR ADDITIONAL MEDICAL CARE.
Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo state, is ill and may soon travel abroad to continue his medical care, according to people close to him who spoke to Quest Times.
According to the story, the governor’s friends and family are pressuring him to leave Nigeria and return to Germany so that he may finish his medical treatment. They are anxious about his health and his incapacity to resume his duties since arriving in Nigeria last month.
The governor returned to Nigeria on September 7 after three months away for medical treatment, but instead of going to Akure, the capital of Ondo state, where he has official quarters, he has been residing in his private residence in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state, and managing the state’s affairs from there.
According to reports, the governor chose to remain in Ibadan so that he could recover because returning to work at the Alagbaka Government House would put more strain on him.

When the governor returned to Nigeria in September, he was still not totally recovered. People who believed the deputy he gave over to was attempting to take over the administration compelled him to make his return. He returned to the nation mostly for that reason.
He has not started working again at the Ondo Government House since his return; instead, he has been remaining in Ibadan and receiving care there. According to the information I gathered, his loved ones are pleading with him to travel again and be in good health, and I believe the governor will comply with their wishes in the upcoming days.
To take control of the administration and oust the troubled deputy governor, his allies pushed him to hurry back. However, due to the party’s national leadership’s interference, the impeachment may not take place soon.
It is unclear whether people who are surrounding the governor will let him depart given that the governorship race is just around the corner. Unless he has a new deputy, he won’t want to transfer authority to them. Any wider void might fuel unrest both inside and outside of government.
