Ipele Kingdom was abuzz on October 10 2023 as Dr. Abu Temitope, a dynamic and vibrant youth leader and practicing doctor, took a significant step by picking up the nomination form for the esteemed Olupele stool.
Dr. Abu Temitope, who is an optometrist by profession, has joined several other contenders in the race for the vacant throne following the passing away of Oba Olusegun Aganun Iredokun I, the 19th Olupele of Ipele Kingdom.
Members of the Alayere age group, encompassing both Okeriwo and Odogun in Ipele, along with friends and family, gathered initially at the legendary organist Late Chief Samuel Abu’s revered house and later proceeded en masse to the Okeriwo Quarter’s headquarters.
At precisely 9:17 am, Princess Taye Olomotagba led an opening prayer, seeking success for Dr. Abu in the competition and the overall prosperity and harmony of Ipele Kingdom.
Chief Ife Ajibola, known as The Aare Ajimeto of Ipele Kingdom, stood in for the Chairman and the current traditional head of Ipele Kingdom, High Chief Raji Olujase. He welcomed the contestants and all present, urging supporters to steer clear of thuggery, hate speech, incitement, and anything that might provoke discord during the selection process, Chief Ajibola also offered prayers for the triumph of Dr. Abu Temitope and Ipele Kingdom.
Dr. Abu Temitope who received his nomination form from the committee, with Mr. Oyeleye Abiola Tosin serving as Treasurer, Mr. Madewa Olomiye as Secretary, and High Chief Raji Olujase represented by Chief Ife Ajibola.
Subsequently, Dr. Abu Temitope paid a visit to Baba Olujase in his private residence, where he received heartfelt prayers for success, Dr. Abu Temitope visited the head of his family (Olori Ebi), Chief Adesida, at his residence, where he was presented with the nomination form. Chief Adesida expressed his joy and showered blessings on the mission, offering words of advice and best wishes to Dr. Abu for the competition.
Speaking with our correspondent, Dr. Abu expressed his candidacy as a divine calling and expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from the people of Ipele. He emphasized his commitment to fostering peaceful coexistence and development in the ancestral home, with faith that his reign will bring significant progress to the region.
Notably, Dr. Abu Temitope is the third individual from Okeriwo Quarter to pick up the nomination form for the esteemed Olupele stool.
