The Minority Leader of Ondo State House of Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Youths & Sports, Hon. Oguntodu Olajide Johnson on Tuesday presented cheques to some students of Realmark and Visionary Group of Schools, in a fulfillment of part of his campaign promises.
The honorable representing Akure South Constituency 1 said his action was borne out of genuine intention to give back to the community by supporting indigent students.
“My intention is not just to support bright and intelligent students among you but also alleviate the burden your education pursuit placed on your parents in lieu of the harsh economic situation.” He stated
Adding that:
“Every child has the tendency of being bright but the circumstances that surround her growth has a way of influencing her development, I am a living witness and that is why I will not stop supporting the indigents.”
Additionally, he advised the students to utilize the opportunity and make themselves and their parents proud that through that, more benefits would come their way.
Mr. Ayodele, the founder of Realmark Model School described the Honourable as a pace setter. He said by investing in the education of the young students, Hon. Olajide has sown into their future and there are long term rewards for this single act.
Mrs. Joshua Akinsola, one of the parents who benefited from the philanthropic gesture of the lawmaker while appreciating on behalf of other parents, expressed her profound gratitude to the House of Assembly Member for fulfilling his promises and counting their children worthy. She stated that the honorable member has set a solid foundation that other public servants must build on while adding that the students should strive to be diligent and work hard to make the Honourable proud.
