Ukraine is gearing up to take legal action against Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia following their unilateral bans on Ukrainian agricultural products, Agriculture Minister Mykola Solsky said on Monday.
These actions have caused significant tensions, as they come in the wake of the European Commission’s decision not to extend its ban on imports into Ukraine’s neighboring EU countries.
Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary recently imposed restrictions on Ukrainian grain imports, citing the protection of their local farmers and economic interests.
These actions were taken after the European Commission allowed its ban on Ukrainian agricultural imports into neighboring EU countries to expire.
The move by these Eastern European nations has strained diplomatic relations and prompted Ukraine to consider legal recourse.
