The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal will issue its judgment today, September 6, on the petitions filed by five political parties – the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), Action Peoples Party (APP), Allied Peoples Movement (APM), and the Action Alliance (AA) – challenging the victory of Bola Tinubu in the February 25, 2023, presidential election.
It was gathered that the five-member panel of justices, led by the presiding justice, Justice Haruna Tsammani, will deliberate and vote on the final judgment of the case.
If there are disagreements on the issues raised during the trial, the justices may vote to reach a final decision.
However, the decision is not final, as a party that is dissatisfied with the outcome may appeal to the Supreme Court.
The judges presiding over the tribunal are:
1. Justice Haruna Tsammani – Chief Registrar of the Court of Appeal
2. Justice Stephen Adah – Court of Appeal (Asaba division)
3. Justice Monsurat Bolaji-Yusuf – Court of Appeal (Asaba Division)
4. Justice Moses Ugo – Kano division
5. Justice Abba Mohammed – Ibadan Court of Appeal.
