Police operatives and some local hunters have arrested 16 people over kidnapping and armed robbery acticities in Adamawa State.
Adamawa Police Command said on Sunday that the 16 suspects were picked up in the course of security operations in Mubi North, Gombi, and Fufore local government areas.
Police image maker Suleiman Nguroje said: “The operatives (of the Police) apprehended the suspects in a joint patrol with local hunters.”
According to him, six AK-47 rifles and other weapons were recovered from the suspects.
“On completion of investigation, the command will charge them to court for prosecution,” Nguroje assured.
He said Commissioner of Police (CP), Afolabi Babatola, was particularly appreciative of the local hunters who helped the Police with arresting the suspects.
The CP, according to Nguroje, appealed for support from all residents to enable the Police carry out its duties more efficiently.
