Ondo State and its era of Paraventure

If Aketi could speak with Dr Jimoh Ibrahim on the phone as claimed by Araba of Ikaleland, it’s not too big for Arakunrin to speak with over 3 million citizens of the state through a recorded video or audio tape for 2 to 3 minutes to encourage the patriotic people who have been praying for his quick recovery.

Looking at the entire scenario, it’s only the fools who will believe the current lies from the powermongers turned opportunists, all is not well in the sunshine state.

 We need more information than this on Aketi’s health and Sunshine people are not imbeciles as being portrayed by these Cabals. If Aketi is getting well as they said why did his wife cancel her 70th birthday celebration to be held on the 15th – 21st of July, 2023 despite the initial promise of resuming soon by the Arakunrin? It will be more honourable for the governor to quit if his health is not improving and forever has his name written in gold of Ondo state’s history instead of putting us in the current state of uncertainty.

There is no doubt, Ondo State hasn’t experienced this season of deception since its creation which is very bad and pathetic. I recently had an encounter with one of the leaders who worked for the creation of the state, Bashorun Sehinde Arogbofa, an Afenifere chieftain, to be precise. He narrated his experience and struggles for the birth of the sunshine state through Gen. Muritala Muhammed. How he was moving from one town to another with his group in sensitizing the people on the need to have a state of theirs and dwelled more on the politics that his committee played to escape in Owo when the factions of Sir Olateru Olagbegi and Ogunoye ruling house of royal families almost turned the ancient town to a war zone, in their course of having a town hall meeting with them. If not for the wisdom of God in the life of this renowned writer cum Yoruba leader, he wouldn’t leave the town alive.

We thank God, this Octogenarian is still here with us, seeing what it nearly cost his life in the hands of the political desperadoes, obviously, this great man called Bashorun Sehinde Arogbofa would have to rethink if he was given another opportunity on the same agenda. I definitely knew things would degenerate to this unpleasant level because of the unprecedented political sycophants who have hijacked the political sphere of the sunshine state. If we were told that Ondo state indigenes would be this gullible, I know many people wouldn’t believe that. It is crystal clear that our people are currently under a spell or an enchantment of deception which can only explain why we have to tolerate Aketi’s Cabals’ excesses to this unbearable point.

Like the Yoruba words of Emilokan and Olule that were popularised by Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu GCFR during his presidential campaign, ‘peradventure’ as an English word, has become the most widely used slang in Ondo state’s political arena. Following the outburst of Aketi’s wife, Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu against the closest female aide to her husband, Mrs Bunmi Ademosun. She said in the viral audio note that ‘peradventure anything happens to Aketi, Lucky takes over, that is a constitutional thing’. This word actually means uncertainty from the Oxford dictionary while Collins dictionary puts the meaning as doubt or chance. The best way to describe what is happening in the Sunshine State now is that the destinies of over 3 million people are in doubt or are by chance, it’s evident that we are in a state of jeopardy and God needs to intervene.

The citizens of this great state have shown undeserved love to the governor on his latest health challenge which is commendable of them. They have also resulted in prayers as the only way to go when medical therapy seems to be helpless in treating the presumed terminal illness. As a Christian, I have nothing against that and use this medium to pray for his speedy recovery if it’s the will of God. However, there is a fact about what is ongoing that is not clear to us ‘What is the current health status of our governor’? This pertinent question must be answered for everything to move on smoothly. We all wish Aketi a quick recovery, nobody has the right over another person’s life, and wanting another human being dead because of power is satanic, inhuman and devilish as Chief Olusola Oke SAN had rightly said, nevertheless, the right thing must be done to maintain peace and order in our society. Many political jobbers have literally christened me ‘Anti – Aketi ‘ because of my articles to criticise his anomalies but these same individuals were nowhere to be found when some of us almost lost our lives for him to be the governor. Criticizing the same man for under-performing is not out of order for me.

In summary, the fate of the Ondo state can’t be left for ‘peradventure’, we want certainty through adherent to every dictate of our constitution. It seems that our present acting governor, H.E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa is only in that capacity on paper but not in functions and evidenced that Owo Cabals are in charge. When Sen. Joe Biden was asked why he preferred Mrs Harris Kamala as his deputy, he said and I quote, ‘peradventure if anything happens to me, the lady is capable to lead the United States of America’. We need to apply the same thing in Ondo state, two to three minutes of a recorded video or audio tape from Aketi to address us on the sick bed will douse our tension, doubt and fear of his whereabouts. This will give us further assurance and encouragement to intensify our prayers for the governor or if all is well with him why did his wife decide to cancel her 70th birthday despite promising the state that Aketi would resume soon? It will be more honourable for the governor to quit if his health is not improving and forever has his name written in gold of Ondo state’s history instead of putting us in the current state of uncertainty.
