Determined to solve the shortage of drinking water especially in Kano metropolis, Kano state Governor, Alhaji Kabir Yusuf has restated the commitment of his administration to partner with any agency willing to assist the state government in that direction.
Engr,. Abba Kabir Yusuf disclosed this when he received the country director of French Development Agency (AFD) Mr Xavier Muron who called on him at the Governor’s Lodge, Aminu Kano house Asokoro, Abuja.
The Governor said that the visit is timely as water is a critical sector that would be given the needed attention by his government and would do everything possible to ensure that all stakeholders in water resources are engaged in solving water problem in the state.
Areas that were thoroughly discussed include; the AFD and World bank co-founded project of Kano urban water sector reform , Rural and Access and Agricultural Market Project ( RAAMP) that were all geared towards tackling Water shortage that has been disturbing Kano metropolis for long.
Earlier, the AFD’s Country Director, Mr. Xavier Muron said he visited the Governor to congratulate him on his election and discuss areas of collobaration with Kano state government so as to work together in so many facets of human development.
