The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division Nigeria Army, Maj Gen Valentine Okoro has charged Officers and Soldiers of 32 Artillery Brigade, Owena Cantonment, Akure Ondo State to remain professional, disciplined in the course of discharging their constitutional roles.
The GOC stated this during his familiarization visit to Headquarters 32 Artillery Brigade Akure Ondo State. Maj Gen Okoro who recently assumed command as the 44th General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army Ibadan was received and briefed by the Commander 32 Artillery Brigade, Brig Gen Mukhtar Adamu on the Brigade’s operational activities and later led the GOC and members of his entourage on a guided tour of the Cantonment.
The GOC while addressing the troops, urged them to continue to maintain high standard of vigilance and alertness in their various duty locations, and also encourage troops to remain disciplined and avoid all acts that will tarnish the image of the NA. He further assured the troops that their welfare will remain paramount to the Chief of Army Staff Maj Gen Taoreed Lagbaja.
In a similar vein, the GOC paid a courtesy call to the Executive Governor of Ondo State Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu represented by his Deputy Lucky Ayedatiwa. In his remarks, the Deputy Governor thanked the GOC for the visit and appreciated the Army for always ensuring the sustainability of peace and security within the State. The Acting Governor promised the support of the government and people of Ondo at all times to the NA towards riding the state and the country at large of any form of criminality.
The GOC equally paid homage to the Paramount Ruler and Deji of Akure Kingdom Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi. In his remarks, the Paramount Ruler promised to continue to maintain and sustain the collaboration between the Kingdom and the NA and prayed for good tidings for the GOC, NA and the nation at large.
