President of the United States, Joe Biden, 80, met with the King of the United Kingdom, Charles III, 74, on Monday in London after his absence at King Charles’s coronation in May, and amidst allegations that he is anti-British.
They had discussions focusing on climate on the eve of the crunch NATO summit in Lithuania, Daily Mail reports.
Biden and Charles shook hands before they walked to the stage for the playing of the Star Spangled Banner and inspect the Welsh Guards.
The US president is spending just 24 hours in London.
Recall that Biden had faced questions about why he sent First Lady Jill and granddaughter Finnegan to attend King Charles’s coronation in May.
Biden also sipped tea with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in the garden of 10 Downing Street to dismiss anti-British claims.
The president in a recent meeting in Ireland, however, noted that US-British relations are ‘rock solid’ and hammered home and that he and Sunak had held talks multiple times in recent months.
He said, “It’s good to be back, we’ve only been meeting once a month.”
