Ila Federal Constituency, 27th June 2023 – Today, the member representing Ila Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Clement Ademola Akanni (Olohunwa), took a significant step towards resolving the longstanding issue of inadequate power supply in the constituency.
Hon Clement Akanni paid a visit to the Ministry of Power, where he met with the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Power, and two of his Directors, to discuss the epileptic situation surrounding power supply in Ila Federal Constituency.
Hon Clement Akanni who was accompanied to the meeting by Seyi Babatunde from Ifedayo Local Government, emphasized the need for a collaborative efforts to tackle the pressing matter.
The discussion between the federal lawmaker and officials of the Ministry of Power was highly productive, as concrete step to bring about a lasting solution to the issue was agreed upon.
Hon Clement Akanni who had stressed the importance of power to the livelihood of constituents, highlighted the challenged the troubling power situation has caused businesses and residents of Ila town.
He added that the prolonged power deficit in Ila town has caused restlessness among the youth and hindered the overall development and well-being of the constituency.
Acknowledging the urgency and significance of the matter, the Ministry of Power has assured Hon Clement Akanni of their commitment to resolving the power supply challenges in Ila Federal Constituency.
It has been agreed that immediately after the Salah celebration, a delegation of engineers will be dispatched to assess the situation on the ground and provide immediate solutions.
The people of Ila are urged to prepare for their arrival and extend their cooperation to facilitate a swift resolution.
Furthermore, Hon. Clement Akanni has announced plans for a Town Hall meeting where constituents will have the opportunity to voice their opinions and contribute to the development of a lasting solution.
This inclusive approach seeks to engage the community and ensure that their concerns are adequately addressed.
