Can Dr Odebowale swear by his gods that he is not aware that his boss, Aketi, has taken advantage of the state to enrich himself?
Can Dr Odebowale swear that Aketi’s son, Babajide, hasn’t become richer simply because he is the son of the Ondo state governor? Can Dr Odebowale swear that the allegations of executive extortion against the first lady, Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu, through FOWOSO and her other pet organizations, made by political appointees and APC aspirants, are false? Does Dr Odebowale think we are fools in Ondo State? Can he try all this nonsense in Ogun state, where he comes from? His days are numbered in the sunshine state; he will pay for all his excesses in due time. This man should mark my words.
The recent attacks on the deputy governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, have become unbearable. It is no longer news that he was falsely accused of domestic violence, claiming that he mistreated his wife without any evidence against his innocent soul. Similarly, he was also alleged to have a certificate scandal, even though this issue had already been resolved at the last tribunal and reached the Supreme Court, solidifying their (Aketi and Aiyedatiwa ) mandate following their victory at the apex court. Everything suddenly changed in the sunshine state, with all political weapons orchestrated against him (H.E. Aiyedatiwa) after Sahara reporters blogged a news article about our governor, Arakunrin Akeredolu Oluwarotimi SAN, said that he is bedridden and incapacitated to carry out the basic functions as the executive officer presiding over three million people.
These allegations are still reasonable because Aketi’s media aides have failed to convince us, beyond doubt, of his current state of health. Another surprising thing is the behaviour of Rt Hon. Victor Olabimtan, who, at the peak of the rumours, said that Arakunrin was okay in Ibadan and would return the following week. It is quite unfortunate that a man in his seventh decade of life could stoop so low because of power and told such a blatant lie. What legacy is he planning to leave for his children? As a former speaker in the Ondo State House of Assembly, a board chairman at TESCOM, and a federal commissioner at the Character Commission, among other positions he had held in the past, what could be the reason for this unreasonable falsehood from the former leader of Ondo state’s parliamentarians ? It was after this incident that Aketi was smuggled abroad for treatment, and later submitted a letter requesting a 21-day sick leave, after causing a lot of commotion.
The people around Aketi have turned themselves into cabals, trying to undermine the deputy governor, H.E. Aiyedatiwa, and his office because of his current vantage position politically resulting from Arakunrin’s ill health. Their evil shenanigans have been so persistent due to the silent disposition of many political heavyweights in Ondo state, who are beclouded by their interests, either as intending governorship aspirants or supporters of different aspirants. They see the current number two man of the sunshine state as a threat, believing that if he is comfortable as the acting governor, it will be to their detriment politically . These individuals have forgotten that power belongs to God and He gives it to whomever He loves. The best approach is for everyone to follow the path of justice and truthfulness, irrespective of whose interests may be affected for now. If we allow H.E. Aiyedatiwa to suffer unlawfully today because of the presumed advantage, tomorrow it could be anybody, and this may become a reference point.
The current special assistant to Aketi on special duties has become another unpleasant presence in the sunshine state. Dr Doyin Adebowale, popularly known as the high priest, has been accused on several occasions of assaulting innocent citizens of Ondo State, physically attacking various individuals in his ungodly rampage. There was a time when he slapped a pregnant woman who works for the Ondo State waste management. This woman was rushed to a hospital for treatment due to the trauma she suffered from his unholy hands. The Ondo State Labour Union tried to address this matter, protested, and requested his banishment. However, as an anointed son of Aketi, of whom Mr Governor is well pleased with, everything was covered up until today. The funniest thing about the whole issue is his response to the allegation, which was ridiculous. He never denied it; instead, the self-proclaimed traditionalist evaded the issue and claimed to have helped the Ondo State generate more IGR. In a similar incident, some youths who took the initiative to fill neglected potholes around the popular First Mercy Hospital in Akure were beaten mercilessly by him because they failed to seek approval from the clueless government he currently serves.
Furthermore, some leaders in the sunshine state, such as Prof. Ajayi Boroffice, Barr. Sola Iji, and Sen. Tayo Alasoadura, were not spared by this political tiger of Aketi. Their only offence was their boldness in dissociating themselves from Arakunrin’s megalomaniac view during the leadership tussle of the 10th National Assembly. The governor of Ondo State had previously aligned himself with Rt Hon. Idris Wase, who served as the deputy speaker of the 9th Assembly, against the ruling party’s anointed candidate, Rt Hon. Tajudeen Abbass, who later won by a landslide. For the undaunted spirit of these respected leaders who tried to hold Aketi accountable, Dr Odebowale, in his usual unrestrained manner, called them all sorts of unprintable names in his articles.
Another online news publication by an uninformed author accused H.E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa of requesting the same amount that Aketi was collecting as the governor to finance his current position. I would like to educate this illiterate individual turned writer. As an acting governor, he has the same entitlements and powers as the governor within the stipulated period. In his present capacity, he can fire any misbehaving appointee and erring civil servant as being empowered by our constitution , These persons should thank their stars that I was not the one in H.E. Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s position; I would have immediately sacked people like Dr Doyin Odebowale and his cohorts. This Ilaje-born man is a gentleman to the core, and some of us do not possess his grace. We believe in activism and taking immediate action.
Lastly, this same foreign man turned tormentor of the people in their land in Ondo State, wrote an article raising an alarm that someone was trying to gain access to Ondo State’s treasures to loot them but lacked the courage to mention the person’s name which means Dr Odebowale is a coward. The questions are as follows: Can this man called the high priest swear by the native gods that he is not aware that his boss, Aketi, has taken advantage of the state to enrich himself? Can Dr Odebowale swear that Aketi’s son, Babajide, has not become richer simply by being the son of the Ondo State governor?
